|Committee Chairperson||Mr. AlvaradoAn attorney by training, Mr. Alvarado joined scouting with his son, twenty three years ago and never left. He has served as an assistant cub master, assistant scout master, scout master, unit commissioner, council commissioner and member of the council training committee.
While maintaining his affiliation with Troop 728 as a committee member, he has also served as a staff member for Woodbadge (advanced adult leadership training) five times. Most recently, he served as Course Director for GNYC’s National Youth Leadership Training in 2012 and will be Course Director for the NYLT course to be presented in the summer of 2014 at TMR.
He currently serves as a merit badge counselor for the citizenship badges, crime prevention and public speaking.
Anthony is an Eagle Scout and remains involved as an Assistant Scoutmaster and trainer in the Boy Scouts of America’s Greater New York Councils. He also co-founded a Venturing Crew, a youth leadership and adventure non-profit organization.
Anthony also holds the position of Director of Technology at CafeMom.com, a privately held social networking website for moms. For the past seven years he has served as the lead architect in designing the website’s infrastructure, opening up satellite offices, and implementing virtual computing. His responsibilities include managing a team of help desk engineers and database administrators. A graduate of the State University at Albany, Anthony holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science.
Bosco has been an adult volunteer with Troop 728 since 1991. He is also an Eagle Scout. Bosco has held several positions within Scouting including Scoutmaster, Venturing Crew Advisor and currently Assistant Scoutmaster. Bosco also volunteers on a District and Council level, including training such as Wood Badge and National Youth Leadership Training.

John P. Ward Training Camping Area
Eagle Scout John P. Ward was a dedicated Scouter. John served as Scoutmaster of Troop 728, Lodge Adviser, Wood BadgeTrainer and Course Director, Scoutmaster of two GNYC Jamboree Troops and staff on multiple Jamborees and National Order of the Arrow Conferences. He was a Vigil Honor member of the Order of the Arrow, Silver Beaver and President’s Award recipient and a dedicated trainer of youth and adults over several decades. Shortly before his passing, John agreed to become Chairman of the Greater New York Councils Training Committee.
The construction of this new facility will serve as a testament to John‘s life of leadership and service. The John P. Ward Training Camping Area will benefit Scouts and Scouters that visit the Reeves Training Center at Alpine Scout Camp. The new camping facilities will be used for National Youth Leadership Training, Wood Badge, and other training courses.
